Disclaimer. This is a quick guide based on typical situations, not a recommendation for your site. Many sites combine technologies, for example AC chargers overnight with a battery-integrated fast charger for top-ups. Grid capacity, vehicle specifications, costs and site constraints all change the answer, so talk to us before you buy.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How does the technology selector work?

It scores five technologies against your answers about power needs, stationary or mobile equipment, site, dwell time, grid connection, users, fast top-ups and demand, then shows the best fit and how the others compare.

Can a site use more than one EV charging technology?

Yes, and many do. A depot might use AC chargers overnight and a battery-integrated fast charger for top-ups, or start with mobile charging while a connection is built.

What if my grid connection is limited?

Battery-integrated fast charging, load management and mobile charging can all help. Ask your network operator about a flexible connection too.

When is mobile charging the right answer?

When vehicles are spread out, the site is temporary, or there is no suitable connection yet, so it makes more sense to take the charge to the vehicles.

Is ultra-fast charging always better?

No. It needs a strong grid connection and only helps vehicles that can accept high power and need short stops.

Is the result a recommendation?

No. It is a quick guide based on typical situations. Grid capacity, vehicle specifications and costs at your site can change the answer.
